About the Company

About Sloan Lighting Solutions

An outdoor lighting company based at 36 Skyline Dr in Lake Mary, Florida, with more than 18 years spent on one trade and one service area.

A Lake Mary Company That Only Does Outdoor Lighting

Sloan Lighting Solutions has spent more than 18 years installing exterior lighting across Central Florida. The base is Lake Mary, in Seminole County, which puts most of the Orlando metro within comfortable reach: Longwood and Heathrow next door, Winter Park and Maitland to the south, Sanford and Altamonte Springs a few minutes either side.

The trade list has stayed narrow on purpose. Landscape lighting, permanent roofline systems, color changing LED, pool and patio lighting, outdoor audio, holiday displays and general outdoor lighting installation. That is the whole catalogue, and it has been the whole catalogue for a long time.

Narrow has advantages. Fixture behaviour in Florida heat and humidity is something you learn by watching your own installs age, not by reading a datasheet. So is knowing how a live oak takes light versus a queen palm, or how much output a stucco elevation will swallow before it starts to look flat.

Brad Sloan still runs the consultations himself, which is part of why the design and the install tend to match. The person who walked the property is the person answering for the result. If you want to see current project work, the Sloan Lighting Solutions homepage carries a service overview, and the company Facebook page posts job footage regularly.

Six Things Worth Knowing

The short version of how Sloan Lighting Solutions approaches an outdoor lighting project.

More Than 18 Years In

Outdoor lighting has been the whole business from the start. No side trades, no seasonal pivot into something unrelated.

The Demo Trailer

Fixtures arrive at the consultation and go up on the actual house, so lighting decisions are made looking at real light on real surfaces.

Designed On Site

Layouts come from walking the property at dusk, not from dropping a standard package onto a floor plan.

Homes and Businesses

Residential estates, commercial frontages and everything between, across Lake Mary, Orlando and the wider Central Florida area.

One Team, Seven Services

Landscape, roofline, color changing, pool and patio, outdoor audio and holiday lighting all handled in house.

Judged After Dark

Aiming and balance get checked at night, because that is the only time the work can honestly be assessed.

Light the Property, Not the Fixture List

Plenty of outdoor lighting gets sold as a quantity. So many path lights, so many uplights, one package for a corner lot and a slightly bigger one for an acre. It installs quickly and it rarely looks like it belongs to the house.

The alternative takes longer at the front end. Walk the property. Work out what the house is doing architecturally, where the good trees are, which sightlines matter from the street and which matter from the back patio. Then decide what gets lit, what stays dark, and what color temperature holds the whole thing together.

Dark space matters as much as lit space. A property with every surface washed in light reads flat. Contrast is what gives depth, and depth is the difference between a house that is illuminated and a house that looks composed.

That thinking carries across the full service range, from a simple landscape lighting layout to permanent roofline systems and color changing installations.

A Trailer Full of Fixtures, Parked in Your Driveway

Color temperature is the usual sticking point. Two thousand seven hundred Kelvin versus three thousand sounds like a rounding error on paper. On a limestone facade at night it is the difference between warm and slightly yellow, and people have strong opinions once they can see both.

Bringing the demo trailer to the property solves that. Fixtures come off the trailer, go up temporarily, and the choice gets made on the actual elevation, at the actual distance, at the actual time of day the lighting will be used.

The same goes for beam angle and placement. It is far easier to move a light three feet while it is sitting on the grass than after the run has been trenched in.
